Hi there, I've looked into this (as it appears you're using my timetable) and can confirm that 4M19 arrives from Southampton via Water Orton and Nuneaton. The reason for this I couldn't tell you, but it's correct as per the WTT. Log in to reply |

As a side note to this, in the 2015 dataset most overnight Freightliners have alternative paths booked or planned line possessions - For example - 4E01 Southampton - Leeds can go Salisbury Westbury Swindon Didcot Oxford as oppoosed to the normal Basingstoke Reading Oxford Passed the age to be doing 'Spoon Feeding' !!! Could it not also be down to keeping a driver's route knowledge current or offering new route training to a driver. I know some early morning or late evening passenger and ECS trains use strange routings just to keep driver route signing up to date.

Another question/ query. There is a lot of early running on freight movements. This causes a degree of difficulty (fun). In some Sims services will call to enter, you can hold the back. Here that is not the case. Now i dont mind, i am happy to try and work it out, using passing loops etc. How likely though would it be to have a freight service entering 33 mins early during the rush hour?

He'd let a freightliner out at Wembley tight behind a semi-fast, knowing the following all-stations would pick up a signal check before Harrow. But by then the 'liner would be running and by the time the passenger had finished station duties and got on the move it would be well clear. If the stations terminated at Tring (on time by now, allowing for recovery allowances), the following semi-fast would probably be catching up somewhere near Bletchley, so the 'liner could be put inside there and wait at Denbigh Hall North for it to go by, then get a run to Northants. Another run to Rugby and the driver could be 30min early in the messroom for PNB... what's not to like? Log in to reply |
