Would someone like to look at the screenshots and saved game and confirm whether or not I’m going mad. I’ve had a quick look at previous posts and can find nothing related.
I have 4N47 supposedly, according to a phone call, at the Limit of Shunt signal by Grangemouth FLT. I say “supposedly” because as far as I’m concerned 4N47 has been waiting patiently at signal FD15 for entry to Fouldubs Run-round and actually travelled from Blackford/Stirling and Grangemouth Junction.
I got around the problem though and carried on. For those interested, I abandoned its tt, reversed direction, reversed direction a second time a short while later and reinstated the tt, setting the next location as Fouldubs Jn. Perhaps someone will be able to tell me a better way to do it?
Timetable is 15-10-09 (04:45)
I have provided a save at 18:10 and on a re-run just now I received the phone call just after 18:11

I reckon that you clicked the LOS by accident instead of the M1 sidings exit arrow.
That then sent the train back towards Grangemouth.

Image below of how it works. I extracted the 4N47 timetable and ran it through in a new game at 22x speed.

There's also something odd with your save as the sim is trying to be in two eras at once.

Thanks for trying to help but that's not actually correct Bill. It may well be that it's timetabled to end up in the FLT M1 but 4N47 hasn't yet been in the run-round area. I think that you can see that I have set the route into the run-round.

Unfortunately my fix didn't work anyway so I'm going to go back to an earlier save and just run it through again from just before 4N47 arrives at Grangemouth Jn. I'll make some notes as I do so.

Regarding the save, I don't understand how it can be trying to be in two different eras. What could have happened?

My money would be on you accidentally changing the train's direction. Its location in the timetable is correct and all is in order. But it's heading the wrong way.

I don't think your procedure for recivering the situation is the easiest. I just changed the train's direction and it happily trotted off to Fouldubs then reversed back into the FLT.

I think that this case is a classic example of where a situation cannot necessarily be replicated from a save. It would appear that what is happening when you run the save isn't the same as when I ran it again.

I then re-ran my original save and it did exactly what it did for you: it went into the run-round as expected. All a bit of a mystery really :\

Forget the bit about two eras.
Seems there is an error in error detecting & reporting.
