I'm playing the 2018 timetable and have train 5A07, which enters at Hare Park Junction, and is then booked to reverse at Wakefield Kirkgate (with no platform specified) before heading off to Crofton Depot. I thought it would be sensible to reverse the train behind WK1237 on the Up Goods, in case another train appeared wanting to use Platform 3. However, 5A07 called up from Signal WK1232 to query the route. It looks as if the Up Goods is not considered to be part of Kirkgate Station for routing purposes although it seemed reasonable to me that an ECS train would not need to stop at a platform. I've now pulled the route and will run 5A07 via Platform 3 but just wondered if any change was needed here. Thanks for an enjoyable sim and timetable. Chris Log in to reply |

The train would need to have through line stop ticked in its timetable to accept lines without a platform. (By the way, there's already a thread about the timetable - https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Forum/ThreadView/52702. Consider posting there if you get no reply from the TT author here.) Albert is correct, but just to note UG is Up Goole, rather than Up goods so its passenger rated, should you ever need go put something passenger on it.

A train without through gangways (eg a pair 22x) would need a (real passenger) platform or a safe walking route these days. Nothing is booked into P3 at this time so you should be safe putting it in there. The CIF file and WTT used doesn't specify a platform for 5A07 by the way, which is why none was included when I wrote the timetable. I will, however, put a thru line tick in the next update to allow use of the UG line if the signaller prefers this.
