I'm sure this will have been noted, although I can't find a thread for it.

Is there an intention to update the Saltley sim so that the platform numbers at Moor Street are swapped to be correct (i.e. 1 becomes 2 and 2 becomes 1).

Andy those were the signal numbers when Moor Street was controlled by Saltley. when the Sim was produced. The numbers changed over when the additional platforms were introduced after WMSC took over

The sim is already correct. The platform numbers were changed at some point after the sim was released.

Thanks, didn't know if there may be some plan to make them current, although I assume without the inclusion of the bay platforms it wouldn't be worth it.

Cheers for the reply though :)

There has been a lot of resignalling since then so if there was current day sim, it would have to be a new simulation. Water Orton, Tyseley, the whole Stratford branch, Redditch come to mind.

Ironically the platform numbers aren't shown, but as a point of interest this is the original signalling arrangement at Moor Street when Saltley was commissioned. Of interest is a green signal leading onto buffers which was acceptable at that time.

Yes I realised there are a lot of areas of the sim that aren't true to the modern era, my original query was due to me looking at modern timetables for the through services at Moor Street and wondering why they all appear to have to cross to the opposite platform, then realising that the platform numbers in modern schedules are opposite to those in the sim, for the reasons discussed.

A modern timetable for Saltley is unlikely to work particularly well.

There was a major remodelling at Tyseley to increase the line speeds when South Bottom was resignalled, trains now cross to the Snow Hill Lines north of the station with all four platforms in use at Tyseley, plus later on when the North Warwick Line was resignalled a new crossover was provided at Whitlocks End with the LM services that formerly terminated and shunted at Shirley extended to Whitlocks End. There’s also direct access to all three platforms at Stratford.

As long as a bit of artistic license is used and trains use the 'obvious' platform at Moor Street they are quite workable. Definitely an enjoyable sim.
