Seeding Train on HoW line 03/02/2021 at 10:45 #136994

I'm in the process of writing a timetable for this sim based on a specific day in February 2020.

I have come up against a problem and it may be that I just don't know how to do this.

There is a move (Track Tamper, 6J88) which took place in the evening from Llandrindod to Maindee Civil Engineer's Depot - this requires a seeding to be done ideally in Llandrindod Up Relief Siding on sim start - there is a Ground Frame there but I cannot find out what the seeding location would be (if even possible).
The workaround, if not possible, is that I start the movement from Llanwrtyd Up Loop (as it is not used all day due to the line being closed west of there): but again, how do I find the seed location, as there are only stop boards and no signals?

Any help appreciated, thank you.

I haven't got access to the sim at present. If you right click on the stop board does it give you a signal number (In a lot of cases the stopboard is in simple terms a signal but drawn as a board rather than aspects). If there is a signal number listed (and it may be all letters rather than number) does that description appear in the drop down menu for seeding locations.

If further advice is needed or there is no 'signal identity' shown then I am sure the developer will be along with instructions on how to place a train in the correct location

In the case of the ground frame, you might be able to find a 'signal number' in the train list if a train is waiting to leave the siding while the frame hasn't been operated yet.

On the Carlisle sim, the ground frames are numbered and the 'signal' numbers are the GF number with a 1 or 2 attached depending on whether you're looking for the inbound or outbound handsignal. This frame doesn't have a visible number but nevertheless it may have internal signal identities for the handsignals that you can give to let trains in or out.

To have a train seed in the URS at Llandrindod, you want to have the train seed at LR7 Signal. (This is where 5Z38 seeds on the 1400 seed in the 2015 Era)
You'll want to give his next location as Llandrindod GF and then TT from there.

I have raised a ticket for Headshot119 (32961) to ask for some information to be added to the manual about seeding on the HoW

Thanks all for the swift replies.

The stop boards here don't give me any signal ID when right clicked, they just act like any other part of the background and offer me the chance to use a sticky note.

The LR7 seed I will try later tonight after work, that should do the trick, thanks for that suggestion.

I like this particular sim a lot, covering a large geographic area it always seems to have something going on, and the extra challenge of regulation and using the various loops to their best advantage.

The one issue I have found is that by 2020, Birmingham New Street trains were usually arriving, terminating, and departing back again from platform 1 as a new signal was installed at the north end, and the turn round timings are accordingly tight for a few such departures. Getting one into the Diesel Sidings and back out (with a realistic 5 minute change ends) to platform 3 needs precision timing and no delays!

There are signals available with prefixes KN, LO, LR, LV and LW, which don't match the codes of any of the boxes but make a good match for the passing loops on the HOW. I'd experiment with these if you want to seed on the HOW.

I've documented the full list available in the manual.
