Routing from UCS to S76 05/05/2021 at 05:46 #139313

Playing Oxford 1974 tt, with 0A83 in 1 waiting to go to S76. The selector is set to 1.
I set the route from S158 -> S76, but S158 doesn't clear, but the GF moves to free, but
points 268 lose normal & reverse detection. I don't know which points the GF refers to though,
as I can freely move 268 if no route is set.

Just had a look at Oxford in 2000 era; the following appears to be the steps required to perform the move you're trying to do...

- Either set the route from Signal 158 to Signal 76 as you've done, or firstly left-click on the F button for Down Carriage Sidings North Ground Frame before then setting the route. (You can alternatively set the route as the final step).

- Menu » Show » Lever Frames » Down Carriage Sdgs North GF

- Tick "Annetts Key" - Swing lever 1 - Swing lever 2 - Swing lever 1 again - Swing lever 3

If that has worked properly, then Point 268 should now be solid but in the reverse position and Signal 158 should be showing a proceed aspect. Follow the steps above in reverse order and then restore Down Carriage Sidings North Ground Frame to Normal by right-clicking on that same green F button.

If you're still struggling, it would be useful if you could provide a save.

Hope this helps!

Setting the route after using the ground frame works.

Setting the route first from 158 to 176 still won't set the points, even after setting up the GF.

Testing some more, I find P268 loses normal and reverse detection when ever the frame is free, either
by setting the route 1st, or manually clicking the f button, and regains it when pulling lever 3

Is this interlocking working as intended?

I've just loaded up Oxford in the oldest era, called the route 158 > 76, then opened the Down Carriage Sdgs North GF. Ticked the Annetts Key, pulled 1, pulled 2, normalised 1, pulled 3, and the route has come off as expected.

Maybe the wiki could do with some additions for this.

As the lever 1 "FPL" is combined with Annetts key it is 'locked' when in the normal position (common in GF's but not in a box).

Should lever 3 be described as 'Slot on 69' (in the mouse hover pop up) when it is also the slot on 158 ?

Feels odd that the points graphic is still flashing when lever 1 is normal (implies locked), but that assumes lever 1 actually operates the FPL.

Could well be how the real thing works, so the power FPL is operated from lever 3, and when proved gives the OX69/158 slot, in which case lever 1 is not so much an FPL as a frame release lever. Would it be a brown/blue in more standard colours ?
