This timetable is a combination of the 1984-85 passenger, 1982/83 freight working timetables and the June 1981 trip notice. This timetable will suit those interested in the workings of the time and also dealing with loco hauled trains, trips and shunts.

The timetable runs from 0000 to 2700 (ie 0300 next day) and includes day of week variations Tuesday to Friday as well as night single line working, randomised trip workings and some train failures. No secondary start is provided as there is enough overnight entertainment.
Trains all run with normal signalling methods, 'pass at red' is only required when dealing with the failures and single line blockages.

Supplied as a zip file containing the .wtt file along with additional notes.

This version is chainable to my 1984 timetables for the Central Scotland and Motherwell sims using the following timetables (current at time of posting)
* Central Scotland 1984 v4.3
* Motherwell 1984 v4.1 (the full service one, not 'FAIR v4.0' )

Discussions and any bugs below please. While it has had a lot of testing there are so many variables there could be some gremlins left.

Bill

A quick question:

I notice that a couple of trains in the sim near the start (6E68 and 4S93) show timings with asterisks between the hours and minutes. I've not seen this in a timetable before, but after looking at the timetables for the trains in F4, I note that they have the "Regulating Stop" option selected under the "Set down" option in the timetable trip editor window.

Am I right in thinking that this is what the asterisk means?

Yes. It means that the train will stop if the signal at that location is red, and when it phones in you will have the option to tell it to wait for departure time. However, if the signal is clear, the train will continue through at line speed.

It's used to handle stops in passing loops, at junctions and the like which are purely for regulating purposes rather than a traffic or crew change stop.

0V27 (Townhill RR) routes along DC as both loops are occupied. Needs Townhill Sig EO903 (rev) rather than Townhill Head Shunt in TT (otherwise ARS sends 6A97 on top of it while it is waiting to reverse!).

Of course if you run everything to time 6A97 has gone before 0V27 is involved so NCR. Sorry, Bill!

However, don't think it was all my fault as ARS routed 0V27 along the CL to EO903 then sent 6A27 on top of it. Moral of the tale, signaller's assistant not signaller's replacement.

That's why I never let ARS route class zero trains. The checkbox is always un-ticked

A line possession for both the up and down line at Mussleburgh appeared by magic around 3.20 am. How long does this possession last for ? Where can I find it on the notifications ? Can I remove it manually ?

Have you run in one of the difficult modes? If so, sounds like you've got the randomly-occurring Mussleburgh Wires Down scenario; you should have a message to that effect in the incident report. Nothing to do but divert everything via Millerhill until advised otherwise.

Odd one, just tested and run as a standalone timetable (6V27, 0V27) and ARS routes DL1 as it should.

Re-ran from saved game leaving ARS in charge but produced another problem. ARS ran 0V27 back to DL1 before departure of 6A27. On departure of 6A27, 0V27 also passed EO916 and out to UC following 6A27. 6A27 was halted at EO716 so 0V27 lay foul of the crossover and rang requesting authority to move from the headshunt rather than CL. Save at 0810 available if you wish.

6B88 0150 Camperdown Jn - Oxwellmains needs a rule to prevent the Millerhill - Oxwellmains entering from Millerhill before the inward Camperdown - Millerhill as departed into Millerhill Yard.

Thanks, keep them coming. Unless there's any fatals I will sweep them up in one upissue.

The most likely bugs will be those that only show up with delays, or combinations of dleay / day of week etc.

Here's another one Bill. 0B86 needs its rule amending to not appear at Oxwellmains until 6B86, not 6B88, has arrived at Oxwellmains.

I'm thoroughly enjoying this TT Bill, not least for the Single Line working around tamper 8R11 between Stenton and Drem. Watching the queue of Down trains form takes me back to watching nights of SLW in Derby PSB many years ago.

Enjoying it so far! Noticed that 8R13 seems to have a wrong train category once it reverses at Grantshouse. As far as I can tell it's supposed to be "tamper, working" between Grantshouse and Dunbar. However, it changes to "tamper" at Grantshouse, which it already is.

Am I the only one having trouble with joining 1P04 and 1B04?

1P04 is already standing on platform 19 waiting on 1B04. I sent 1B04 onto track 19 but it just keep telling me "Train 1P04 in front". Any idea what I'm doing wrong here?

Attached the save file.

Looks like you put 1B04 into the rear of 1P04 instead of going round into P1 to back on.

1B04 is hanging out and there is a vacant TC in front of 1P04, while 1B04 has not got to Edinburgh East P1 yet

1P04 is set for 'near end +30' stop.

Looks like there is a mismatch between the length of the West Calder Sdg and 7D20 11:05 Millerhill - Mossend. The Sdg is 100m long in the sim while 7D20 is 140m. so hangs out on the main line during its recess from 12:26 to 12:46. Nothing due to pass so not a problem operationally.

Intentional mismatch or oversight?

Length of the sdg discussed previously on Mantis 000779

5G10 runs out from Haymarket P4 to reverse at Central Jn and back to P1.

Either line codes or reversing location require attention. If the reversing location is EH926 as per TT, line codes from Haymarket P4 need to take train over to DN. If the line codes from P4 are correct as DS, reversing location needs to be EH928.

Nothing passes and it seems to be a detach / shunt / pick up (domestic coal ?) so I was quite happy for the line to remain blocked by the the train while invisible things happen to the front.
Too messy to do a DF - loco+wagon in/out - rejoin

Gone for reversing at EH928 - some other odd things happen on ARS with P4 - DN - 926.

Added complication is that while P4 - DN for 5G10 is Ok under ARS, TT validation also wants a path from Haymarket for 2G65 even though it terminates.
DS sets the route forward you do not want
If you put in 'DN' then (understandably) P2 - DN gets set !

Still ploughing through original version so apologies if this has already been updated.

Two variants of 8J71 in the TT, one Thornton - Cupar and the other Thornton - Leuchars. Both have decision set as Trip 71 > C. Thinks the Leuchars should be Trip 71 > L.
