Strange phenomenon just occurred. I cannot seem to access the SimSig website for the last hour or so and cannot log into the server to play, yet it has been fine for the day up to recently. I can login/connect however when I use a VPN to change my location to UK (allowing me to post this). Is there anything changed in the last couple of hours or so on any config in the server or website to account for this? I can use the VPN no problem if this is what it takes but much prefer not to. This is the same for Chrome, Edge and Firefox, have not tried a different laptop....yet...as do not have it installed on any other one. Just curious if it something that has changed or if the great firewall of China has been expanded south a bit.. Ta. Log in to reply |

I'm not aware of any planned changes. Can you do a "tracert www.SimSig.co.uk" in a command window and post the results here, please? Log in to reply |

Hi Clive, it's working this morning but not always first time. Twice it hesitated then either said interrupted or not available - reloading or waiting a few seconds got it up. The only site affected is SimSig, no others I use that I can see at the moment. This mornings tracert results are below for SimSig.co.uk. 1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms 192.168.0.1 2 4 ms 3 ms 4 ms 10.193.232.16 3 4 ms 4 ms 4 ms 10.193.233.21 4 4 ms 4 ms 5 ms wtsc3a054.netvigator.com [218.102.40.54] 5 6 ms 5 ms 5 ms hurricaneelectric1-lacp-100g.hkix.net [123.255.91.158] 6 * * 136 ms port-channel11.core2.sin1.he.net [184.104.198.34] 7 * * * Request timed out. 8 189 ms 195 ms 209 ms 100ge5-2.core1.par2.he.net [184.105.81.29] 9 190 ms 190 ms 190 ms 100ge11-1.core1.lon2.he.net [184.105.223.253] 10 191 ms * * 100ge0-30.core2.lon3.he.net [184.105.64.238] 11 * * * Request timed out. 12 192 ms 193 ms 192 ms rtr-dun-a.memset.net [37.128.135.35] 13 192 ms 192 ms 191 ms fw-d2-b1.memset.net [37.128.135.136] 14 * * * Request timed out. 15 * * * Request timed out. 16 * * * Request timed out. 17 * * * Request timed out. 18 * * * Request timed out. 19 * * * Request timed out. 20 * * * Request timed out. 21 * * * Request timed out. 22 * * * Request timed out. 23 * * * Request timed out. 24 * * * Request timed out. 25 * * * Request timed out. 26 * * * Request timed out. 27 * * * Request timed out. 28 * * * Request timed out. 29 * * * Request timed out. 30 * * * Request timed out. Do other pages hosted by Memset (e.g. rclone) work okay?

So far today, all is well so it may have been 'just one of those things'. Still weird how it would not accept the HK IP address but I'll keep on monitoring if anything happens again.

I've got nothing to add except while I was roaming last week abroad, I did have issues connecting to this site - but also a handful of other sites as well. Later the same day they would be fine. Unfortunately it's very hard to pinpoint this kind of thing. It looks like you managed to get as far as the data centre but then there are Memset firewalls of various kinds that I have no control over, as well as Windows Server firewalls that I have some control over.
