Victoria Catford Loop diversion query 02/01/2022 at 12:32 #143238

Hello all,

Been digging up some engineering work archive on Gensheet for the year 2016 for some TS2022 ideas on the Chatham route. I have seen the Chislehurst Tunnel closure scenario SimSig timetable that I might use as an idea as well as that wouldn't be too unrealistic.

I have found some booked works listed on Gensheet with Herne Hill route blocked, and lists all services via Catford Loop, with calls at Denmark Hill for rail replacement to all stations via Herne Hill to Beckenham Junction( presumably that's only the Dartford's and Oprington's that would call at Denmark Hill).

Now any timing data of these has long disappeared, so would need a working out of times out of Victoria, but the Orpington services were every 15 minutes. I know these works were Sunday's only but with everything running via Catford and the Orpington service still had a 15 minute interval on Sundays, is it likely these were reduced to a half hourly service?

There was also works that had the Thameslink core shut so everything terminated at Blackfirars except for Sevenoaks services which diverted to Victoria, surely this would reduce the Orpington frequency?

Just a long shot if anyone on here remembers the service pattern, or has worked these services

Any help would be appreciated!

James.

James,

It has been run relatively recently (7 Nov 2021), so at least the timings should be within reach of Charlwood House site.

(I forgot to change the date wrong in the header - ignore)

Oh I see thank you very much! As I suspected the Orpington's run half hourly leaving paths for Thameslink and the other SE services, makes sense, I can at least use that as a guide thank you
