Just a minor point but thought that I'd mention it anyway.
In the 2009 timetable 3J94 is waiting at unlit signal 327 but a phone call states that it is waiting at a red signal.
....

Edit: Well, knock me down with a feather. The driver has just found his glasses, noticed that signal 327 is actually unlit and phoned again.

Oh dear. I tried to tell the driver to pass the unlit signal and got an access violation. The sim then froze and I had to shut it down via the Task Manager

The message that is displayed in the message bar is not the driver phoning in. It is simply the sim displaying a message about trains stopped at signals and does not difrentiated in the message what the reason is.
These are completely independent to the driver phoning in at the signal and are able to be switched off in the F3 window if you don’t want to view them.

Can you provide any save game of just prior to the access violation occurring for us to have a look at? Also a copy of the log file that would have been running at the time please.

Here is the save but please not the following:

I've just re-run from the 02:20.00 save. The driver phoned but this time reported correctly that the signal was unlit.
I've noticed this sort of thing before, in that when you re-run from an earlier save a given situation doesn't always repeat.

Unfortunately, when the access violation occurred the sim completely froze and I couldn't click on anything at all and had to shut the sim down. I was therefore unable to grab the technical information.

Also attached is the Log File with today's date Hope that it's useful.

I understand what you are saying about the message bar, so it would appear that the message was incorrect. However, the fact is that I got a phone call in which the driver reported being at a red signal which is when I reported it on the Forum after pausing the sim. When I un-paused it, I immediately received another phone call from the driver in which, as I said in the edit, he correctly reported that he was waiting at an unlit signal. It was when I tried to answer this call that I got the access violation and the sim completely froze.

Thought that I would just mention this.
