Hi guys, I have followed the guide on how to set up a multiplayer server and done extensive research on why the ports are still closed. I have created rules on both my routers settings and the windows firewall. I have even tried disabling the firewalls and I still get a closed connection. Does anyone have any other suggestions I could try? Log in to reply |

maybe your provider is blocking ports permanently, ask on provider's support to open ports

The message in the thread title relates to Windows specifically: SimSig has asked Windows to use the specified port and Windows said no. It's nothing to do with the firewall, router, or the provider at this point - though these could be an issue later. There are ways to try to work out what is using the chosen port, but it's probably easier just to find another port that is open. Anything from 1024 to 65535, broadly speaking.
