Now released: https://www.SimSig.co.uk/File/Details/2814 This timetable is for a summer Saturday in 1964, seeing the intense stream of London - Devon services mixing with the Cardiff / Bristol - Weymouth / Portsmouth services. The timetable runs from 06:00 to 00:10 Sunday (last exit at 02:00). Services are accurate in timing and train type (Public TT, London area WTT, loco diagrams from timetableworld) but local TD are made up. There were a few alterations needed to cope with the services that would have run to/via Devizes, and track alterations (Trowbridge, Newbury). The single lines however pretty much worked despite being double in 1964, while Westbury with 3 bidirectional platforms is OK too. It does run 'perfectly' with no incidents, but falls part quite rapidly with any delays due to the single lines. There are further notes in the timetable zip file, and you can also find some extra splash screens here: https://www.SimSig.co.uk/File/Details/2811 Discussions below...... Very good Timetable, I have got the June 1963 classes 7 8 9 local freight working timetable for Exeter and Plymouth that does show trip workings in the Westbury area and can provide details if required. Glyn Glyn Calvert ACIRO Log in to reply |

As you probably expected not that much ran on Saturdays, but interesting nevertheless.

Yes, and even more remarkable that my 'wild guess' at a train to Frome / Radstock is not far out ! It looks more difficult to build in the Melksham trips with the single line though. Bill Log in to reply |

Yes, I was impressed by that. There was also a trip from Westbury Yard to the Cement Sidings and back on a Saturday departing 1015 no return time is specified. Glyn Glyn Calvert ACIRO Last edited: 30/09/2022 at 12:40 by geswedey Reason: None given Log in to reply |

Timetable amendment required? 5A02 is due to arrive in PFM 3 Westbury at 1739 (departing in the UP direction at 1800 as 2A02), after 2R51 which is due to arrive at 1738 to depart at 1745 as 2Y16 also in the UP direction. Suggest 5A02 is amended to arrive at 1735.

Updated version 1.2 now in downloads https://www.SimSig.co.uk/File/Details/2814 Thanks to geswedey for sending me a 1964 Bristol area trip notice, things now make a lot more sense with the Warminster freights I had from the WTT / loco diagrams. Bill Log in to reply |
