Evening all,

After much work I have got my New Street Summer 1992 TT up to workable point where it can be operated for the full TT.

I was wondering if a few members of the forum could give it a run through and post any issues below and I will sort them ready for a full 1.0 release?

I have run through it twice, ironed out a few things but I am sure there are things that have slipped the net.

NOTES:
- Any schedule clashes are as per the information used and will NOT be changed.
- There were minimal platform clashes at BHM, I have jigged them about to enable most clashes to be removed, although some may still exist.
- Line codes shown are as per the WTT but don't be afraid to use alternatives if it assists with the good running of the service.
- Galton Junction needs keeping a good eye on due to the services coming in from Stourbridge.

Therefore PSA a copy of the TT in its current guise.

My thanks go to NoisyNoel for his assistance with the overnight van shunts and badgering to actually get the TT done!

Please enjoy!

Had a good go one hour in and I'm enjoying it so far!. Only hiccup I had was two trains joining on Planform 7 at the start 5N94 to join with 5N99. I set the route as appropriate but once it arrives both trains in F2 simply saying wait for 2N99 or 5N94. Not sure if I gone wrong here but I couldn't get them joining.

Update:
Also forgot to mention within that 1st hour I had trouble on Platform 10 with both 5B03s, In the end I had to abandon the timetable 5B03Vans to authorise PSAD to reinstate its timetable to start the join. 5B03 that seeds if you set a route to it from the B side it says subroute is locked in opp direction.

It seems some of the joins need timetables abandoning and reinstating after Authorise PSAD.

Same issues occur in the 1990 timetable. Its to do with the mid platform signals and trains interactions with them. I don't think there is a fix currently beyond repeatedly asking them to shunt forwards or to abandon and reinstate timetables.

As a side issue, I've had a look at the timetable, but don't have time to test it currently. The only thing I've noticed is that the XC sets are shown as 6Mk2s and a BG, but by 1992, they were 7 Mk2s, no BG (on paper at least - some sets ran short) with a BSO providing brake facilities and converted Buffet vehicles replacing the old RMBs.

I'm up to 0300 and haven't had any issues. I was able to get 5N94 and 5N99 to join without issuing PSAD. The mid-platform signals worked just fine to facilitate the join (for me).
So far it's very enjoyable, and I really appreciate your work!

I've got as far as 14.00 and everything has been fine so far. All the shunts and loco changes have attached and divided correctly.

On other New Street timetables I find the issue referred to above happens occasionally with no pattern that I have spotted. It seems it will occur on a random pair of trains due to join and next time round those two will join with no problem.

Thanks for creating this TT and I'll report back as I go, or possibly at the end if no issues crop up.

Phil

I've been through the whole TT now and it's all worked fine, just a few very minor things mentioned below. A Sim issue occured mid way through my testing, possibly to do with the Loader release last week, but that is nothing to do with the TT and I have reported that in a seperate thread and it has been raised on Mantis.

Good TT, quite straightforward and there were only a couple of short periods where I found New Street station itself got particularly busy. Users do need to pay attention to the overnight shunts though to make sure to do them in the right order.

A minor platform clash:

1S66 is in platform 7 from 1410 to 1425
2H39 booked into 7A at 1422 and out as 2H42 at 1432

Not a clash but 1M87 would probably be 8a rather than 8b ?

Finally 6M92 to Witton Aggregates would need a run round in Witton DGL as I'm sure it wasn't possible to run round in the yard itself. That's probably why it is booked in the DGL for 27 minutes. Best to add the stopping point as 'Near end' as otherwise the loco will overhang the points at the north end when joining.

Hi Phil,

I appreciate you going through the TT, nice one. 1S66/2H39 won't be changed as this is per the Station working book & both trains are safely accommodated.

I'll go through and change the other bits in due course. Thanks again for giving it a run through.

Cheers,
Paul

Hi, I had an issue close at starting time, I routed 0T24 in the north tunnel and then to platform 4A to join 1O50, but it just stands there displaying "waiting for joining 1O50" and asking to shunt forward won't work neither, as it still won't move towards 1O50.
Same happens with 0M27 and 1V27, and with 5N94 and 2N99.

Reading the New Street manual, I understand that when routed into a platform, trains will start they duties on either side of the platform if the mid sig is at danger, no matter the TT settings, but I can't find the way to open the mid sig at shunt, what am I missing? I can't seem to find anything about it in the manual.

update: only managed to open mid sig at shunt on P10B towards P10A clicking on the red arrow, probably because it had a free circuit in front? I only noticed now HST reported the same issue, could there be a SIM issue with red arrows? like on P4&P5, clicking on them seems to select the far end sig that blinks.

Hi, I'm going on with the game, and I've noticed 2N33 must have a mistake in the TT: leaves NS at 15.51, but then it's booked to stand at Five Ways till 16.09, same time of 2N35.
