Is there a way of only wrking 1 wrk st/panel instead of all of them.
For example on KX just work panel 1 the station area.
I just think some of the sims are too big m busy n I don't really get on with computers to start joining the online games.

If the sim has ARS (King's Cross doesn't), yes, you can enable and disable sub areas as you like.

If it doesn't, only by joining multiplayer games.

However you can slow down and speed up time and pause the sim at any point to allow you to, uh, take five for safety

Some of the areas simulated are split into smaller sims with only 1 or 2 panels such as Rugby SCC, Leeds and Doncaster. Alternatively, London Bridge has a 'Mini' version with just Panels 1-3, although that sim is still very busy.

. . . I don't really get on with computers to start joining the online games.
A lot of people who are not from the geek end of the spectrum manage to connect to online SimSig sessions quite happily so please don't think that it is a computer big deal. When you open SimSig the main loader screen shows. One of the big buttons is to "Join a multiplayer simulation". When you click on that you are taken to the same screen as you would see if you were starting a new simulation. Select the sim for the session that you wish to join. That brings up a screen asking you for information. The "IP address of the server" is something that the host publicises as part of the invitation to join. It may be text or a group of numbers. You don't need to understand what the text or numbers mean, you just have to copy and paste or type them into the box. The "TCP port" is another bit of information that the host will already have supplied. Finally you have a box to type in up to 4 characters to identify you when you take on a panel or workstation in the multiplayer. Once you have done that, the sim will load and an F10 window will show giving any further information you need to connect. Some sessions also use an audio interface such as Teamspeak but if you don't want to use that then most sessions work acceptably through the F10 window. If you are still a bit unsure, most hosts are quite happy to let a new entrant stand back and watch until they feel confident enough to ask for the chance to operate a panel.

The main thing to get your head round is that there is no "computer" expertise necessary to join a multiplayer. If you want to play the part of a real-life signaller then you need to take on the attitude of "getting the job done" which is a key part of the signaller's work.
