City Thameslink slot query 12/12/2022 at 12:53 #149250

Just a quick question.
What is the earliest point at which the slot can be cancelled so that a train can be sent towards Moorgate. Must it be after it has departed from City Thameslink and is occupying the TC at signal 481?

Thanks. Bugsy

It's not the slot stopping you from sending a train *towards* Moorgate - there is time of operation locking on the points. Either have the points set correctly before P3 Farringdon becomes occupied, or you have to wait a time release.

The slot can be cancelled as soon as a train passes that grey signal departing City Thameslink, but again, that doesn't affect your ability to send 2A61 *to* Moorgate.

The slot given will stop you sending a train from Barbican to Farringdon P4.

Thanks for your clear explanation.
I shall watch the trains departing from City Thameslink carefully. That's unless I'm tied up somewhere else of coarse

I use the F4 timetable screen to see when the next train is due to enter, or a simplifier set to the entry point would achieve the same.

When in doubt, i have the slot cancelled - if a train enters, the slot will flash as if requested, this draws your attention to it.

Hope that helps!
