It is not "a few minutes". Do you get a popup message? If so, what does it say, and how long does it *actually* take to appear?
It was a few minutes. I started the sim at 00:00, went the the "My Licenses" page, clicked "Request unlock" and waited. I think it paused at around 6 or 7 minutes in but I didn't take note of the exact time.

I did get a popup message, yes. It said "Licence has been removed from this machine" or to that effect. I clicked OK, the sim closed, and no save file was generated.

If you really don't believe me @GeoffM I'm quite happy to screen record the process.

Geoff, as a fellow software developer I'm trying to help you improve your software, but your comments leave me with a feeling of hostility. Please do correct me if I'm wrong but I do feel like a hindrance to you sometimes with the way you respond to some of my posts - this being one of them.
"LostLicense.ssg" is generated when the program has tried several times over a few tens of minutes, and covers the case of a lost internet connection.

You actively removed the license which it correctly detected and does *not* generate a save file because it's presumed you knew what you were doing.

Granted I had not noticed the segue from one scenario to another in your posts.

Ah, I was not aware the software would behave differently under this circumstance. In that case, I'm not sure what caused the initial loss of license on my non-Windows machine - it had an active connection for the entire time I was playing, but the save file was not generated (Snapshots work, as well as Ctrl+S).

After sleeping, SimSig should also create a save called 'woke up' (or similar), can those who are having problems confirm if that save is present?
No, nothing is ever saved. Licence is locked
