Hi all, This timetable is now available in the downloads section. It is an updated version of the 1992 Winter Tuesday timetable, which takes advantage of newer features, additional information received since the original timetable, and now covers the full Monday to Friday week. Timetable overview below: Welcome to Derby in the Winter of 1992. This Timetable Covers the period commencing September 1992 through to May 1993 and is chainable with all neighbouring Winter 1992 Timetables (as and when produced). It has been compiled using the following documents: WTT Section CG dated 28th September 1992 - 16 May 1993 Derby Station Working book dated to May 1992 East Midlands Coal plan dated December 1993 Tyseley Weekday DMU Diagrams Commencing May 1992 Platform 5 Locomotives & Coaching Stock book 1993 Assorted BR Technical drawings for rolling stock. OVERVIEW Intercity Midland Mainline provide an hourly HST service Between Sheffield & London with some morning and evening extras, including "The Master Cutler" which should be kept punctual. They also provide two loco hauled peak time services Between Derby & London using 47/4s and Mk2 Stock. Intercity Cross Country provide an hourly HST service between the North East and South West, which is supplemented by Loco hauled services using 47/4s with extended fuel tanks (numbered in the 478xx series) and Mk2e/f stock based at Manchester and Derby. Regional Railways Central provide all stopping services to locations including Matlock, Nottingham, Birmingham, Lincoln and Crewe plus others, using a pool of Tyseley based 150s,153s and 108s, along with Derby based 156s. Express services are also provided hourly between Nottingham and Birmingham, extended bi hourly to Cardiff Central, utilising Norwich Crown Point based 158s. Parcels traffic is much reduced from its earlier peak, but Derby is still a major hub overnight for the exchange of mail and parcels involving several shunt moves. Trains marked "Postal Service" should be given highest priority over other traffic, owing to the penalty fees incurred by British rail/RES for delays incurred (the user will get a points penalty as these are flagged bonus scoring). Local MGR traffic runs to Denby, Lounge & Nadins, going through to Willington, Ratcliffe & Drakelow. There is also longer distance traffic to Didcot, Ironbridge & Rugeley Power Stations. I have referred to wagons as either HAAs (regular brakes, no hoods) or HBAs (improved brakes, hoods fitted) for simplicity to determine the speed of each train, but in reality a set would potentially have a mixture of hooded and non hooded wagons with varying TOPS codes. Steel is a major flow through this area with traffic running between Lackenby, Aldwarke & Scunthorpe into Bescot, Wolverhampton & South Wales, there is also a Scrap flow from Kingsbury to Aldwarke and an Export flow to Boston Docks. Oil trains run from Humberside through to Kingsbury, Langley and Brownhills conveying various fuels. Twice a week a supply of fuel for Etches Park runs from Stanlow BP. Chemical Traffic runs from Haverton Hill to Bescot conveying Chlorine and CO2 gas. Acetic acid traffic runs from Hull Saltend to Baglan Bay and Spondon CourtaOlds. Railfreight Distribution operate several freightliner trains through the area, plus assorted other Connectrail and ex speedlink services. There are also movements of 1992 Stock from Litchurch lane to London and Networker stock from Washwood Heath to Strawberry Hill.
