So I'm around 2200 in my save and I have just received a call informing me that a heard of cows are waiting to cross at the carriage shed crossing. Now I know there's no farm in the carriage shed and I don't think Arriva have allowed any ECS in with livestock on board. Can this be looked in to? Additionally I don't think a driver would appreciate being called a cow! Last edited: 08/05/2023 at 09:22 by i26 Reason: None given Log in to reply |

The nature of the users wanting to cross is just chosen from a pre-defined list at random, and cannot be tailored for individual crossings. To my knowledge that list is: Abnormal Load Slow Vehicle Confused Driver Herd of Cows Flock of Sheep Flock of Geese A bit like the random train delay reasons (which work the same way), it isn't really intended to be taken too seriously; more to have something to mimic the process correctly. So if the line was blocked because of a pax service with the incident on board, and the fright driver is going to be out of hours or relief driver isn’t going to make it because of the hold up, the fright will still get coded against that pax train. I got the cows waiting to cross too - in the real world usually it’s a fuel tanker or some fed up staff waiting for my class 5s! Incidentally is it possible to have more calls from that crossing? It’s very busy and although I don’t know for certain, it seems it opens for road traffic between every bank of trains rather than as required - it even has a crossing keeper who puts stop boards down when it’s in use. Nothing worse than waiting to come off the single line and seeing the hi vis jacket cross the line placing the boards down! There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway. Log in to reply |

Played Crewe 4 times midnight to midnight and I keep getting calls to cross every 10-15 minutes. Starting to ignore the calls now so they get run over. Maybe random but no calls from Lower Radway Green as I did the first time I played.

Crewe carriage shed crossing would be in use quite a lot, it's the only carriage sidings left in Crewe. South Junctions carr. sdgs are now owned by LSL, north junctions carr sidings have been almost entirely lifted (EMU sdg). Think about in the morning and evening how many units shunt between the station and the CS, the traincrew has gotta go/come from somewhere. 7-5-5, closing of comment Log in to reply The following users said thank you: elltrain3, lazlo52, Trainfan344 |

As at Crewe, the LC is internal to the depot and used by staff only. Quite surprising how much traffic was using the LC. Unlike at Crewe, it's signalled as a conventional MCB so is only closed to road when a train needs to pass, most times a unit did a shunt a member of staff ended up waiting at the barriers.
