Hi everyone! So I'm fairly new to the game, I have the basics down (I think!), and I've done Royston and Lancing to start. I wanted something a little more challenging! So, I found Wembley Suburban, I have no trouble with it at all except right at the beginning of the Simulation with 5X08 which goes to Watford Junction Platform 6, then it goes to Watford South (rev), which I believe means reverse (I hope!), I have had a look at the manual, and I think I know where it's supposed to be routed to, but when clicking on the signal it says ''A Slot is required for this route'', so I click on the slot button, it then says ''Slot request to Watford Junction given'', and I can't get further than that, as in the train won't move! I'm sure I'm probably making a silly mistake and there's something I'm not seeing, but I've tried all possibilities that I can see and I still can't work it out.. If anyone can help at all I would be so greatful! -A total noob...

Hi, To get from P6 to Watford South Reverse, authorise "401 Slot" just above Platform 6. If going towards Watford Junction, slot request is located below the "Watford Sidings" label, between 74 and 77 signals. This then unlocks the route to WJ761 and thence to Platform 6. Hi, Glad you're enjoying WembleySub. Don't worry too much if you can't keep the trains running on time: nor could the signallers working the real thing. Yes, "(REV)" means "reversing point" in at least all the sims I write. Platform 6, the fast lines, and the sidings are operated by Watford Junction box. This and WembleySub use slots to grant permission to move between them. So in the morning, to get a train across from platform 6 to the New Lines (the ones worked by WembleySub) Watford needs you to grant slot 401 before you set the route, which you do by pressing the button. In the evening you need to get trains back to the sidings, so you request the slot by pressing the button between 74 and 77 signals and waiting for it to stop flashing before setting the route across to WJ761. Of course, what we really need is a timetable for when the main lines were blocked and all the goods traffic was going down the New Lines to Primrose Hill. That would get you lots of practice with the slots. Clive Log in to reply |
