HU1402 and Runround Movements in Marsden Loop 29/04/2024 at 22:42 #156147

Recently a number of freight trains have been performing runround movements in the Marsden loop, an example being 6G93 https://live.rail-record.co.uk/train.php/?c=B02831&d=2024-04-29. Whilst in the timetable it has been marked as either a reversal or runround, I can confirm it is indeed a runround movement from photographs of the consist and the train describer feeds.

When attempting to make timetables in SimSig, I've found that HU1402 signal doesn't clear if there is a train already in the loop.

Is this an oversight or is it working as intended? Would it be possible to be fixed if so? Thanks.

Hi

Thanks for the report. I have raised Mantis 40761.

It seems this was also reported around 9 years ago! It also has alot more detail - see https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Forum/ThreadView/40021?postId=75581

NorthSig says it should clear into the Up Main as well with the track circuit occupied - not sure if that hasn't been patched as well.

Good sleuthing - thanks for the link. The developer no longer develops simulations so I'll have to work out what was done and what was not.
