I have two trains approaching a TCF.
I will ask the driver of the first to arrive to PSAD and examine the line. I will hold the second train until the first reports that there is no obstruction.
I take it that this is the correct procedure?

And if I understand things correctly nothing should be allowed to pass on an adjacent line until the line over the TCF has been proved to be clear.

Trains on an adjacent line must be cautioned while the affected line is being examined.

Also if there is a train to pass on adjacent line before the affected line has been examined that train must be told to pass the affected portion of line at caution and report back as soon as possible if anything appears to be wrong. Trains may then be signalled normally on the adjacent line. However while the affected line is being examined any train to pass on an adjacent line must again be cautioned.

The only exception is if there is a tunnel in the affected section. You cannot have more than one train in the tunnel while the line is being examined.

Aha. I wasn't actually correct then. The train on the unaffected line can also be told to proceed with caution and not be held until the the first train reports back 😎
