Hi I would like to see an option on the timetable menu (under right click) where you can put in a delayed departure time for the train at its next stopping point so you can tell the driver to hold the train quicker (and without editing the timetable) For instance I am currently on sandhills and just had a "awaiting new driver" message for a train at Hamilton square up. I have 2 trains behind it. I tried to adjust the timetable to them before they left Conway Park and Birkenhead Park but didn't do it in time So it would be nice to have a click down option of "hold at next calling point and await further instruction". And then another option saying "incident has now cleared, proceed forward obeying all signals" or something Maybe have another option of calling the driver and asking them to hold in a platform they aren't due to stop at if given enough time in the event of a delay ahead. Network rail will always try and hold trains in a platform as it gives the TOC more options if it becomes a prolonged incident, it would be nice to find away of implementing it Last edited: 29/05/2024 at 23:50 by Nutter Reason: None given Log in to reply |

You can already “pause” a train as one of the options if you right click on a train in the F2 train list, does that not achieve the same result?

You can, but you have to be "on the spot" when a train is present at the location you want to stop and wait. What Nutter is talking about a feature that you can tell in advance the driver to stop and wait at a certain location (eg. next station platform) before the train actually arrives there. Thus you can do your job anywhere else on your sim layout without the need to keep an eye on the train or the desired location to pause it.

The other option is to edit the TT with a right-click in F2, and set the next calling point with a suitable dwell time e.g. 5 minutes. If the incident is ongoing you then have time to pause it whilst it is stationary.

I currently edit the timetable and put the departure time as 2359. As has been said, very similar to the pause option just you can tell the driver to pause at a location in the future......maybe via a drop down menu linked to the TT so it doesn't have to be the next station, but a few stations along the line so its as close to the incident as possible while being held in a platform Log in to reply The following user said thank you: sunocske |
