Thanks for this TT, excellent so far up to 0200. For those who haven't started it yet don't do what I did near the start and route trains into the Up Sorting Sidings from the wrong end, read the timetable as of 4 early arrivals 2 reverse at Tame Bridge Parkway.

The question is will there be a Mo-Fr TT or do the closed routes make it too unlike the real thing at the time to be feasible?

Glyn,

You got to the TT before I got to post the advert !

So here's the plug for everyone else:

This timetable is for a summer Saturday from an 0000 start, running to 0400 Sunday.
Timetable v1.0 chains to Wolverhampton 1975 SAT timetable v1.1 and above.
The timetable needs v1.8 of the Walsall sim, so be sure to have this update before running it

It includes the additional summer Saturday trains via Bescot as well as some overnight freight early on. There are a few minor changes to work with the reduced 2006 layout, but little by way of daytime trips ran in any case with the 'boxes on the freight lines (Wednesbury/Dudley, Norton/Lichfield) generally closing at 0600 and trip & shunter diagrams ending by 1400.

Trips are run to Bloxwich and the Cannock line, which although booked SX, have been included for entertainment and historical value. I suspect that Bloxwich and Hednesford also did not have a Saturday early shift, but the Rugeley MGR are real booked services.
The majority of 'conditional' services are run unless they were mutually exclusive, so more than expected are running.

After a fairly quiet afternoon period, best run at 8x clock speed or more, the WCML is diverted through the Bescot area overnight Saturday-Sunday.

The timetable is in 'user downloads' or directly from

Not feasible unfortunately. It is even that another 'era' that activated the Wednesbury and Lichfield lines would add much, as you could not run many more trains without the (pre 1982) up reception lines. As you have found already those 4 early arrivals are a bit of a problem and that would be quiet for a weekday around 1000. The images linked in the notes document show the original layout where up sidings had direct connections from all the up lines feeding a 5 track reception sidings, now partly the VQ sidings with no facing access.
Example https://www.flickr.com/photos/90214143@N04/35984439774/ and the rest of that album

I did put together a mockup to help understand the old layout so may finish that and post it. There were so many differences that it would be a complete stand-alone sim (similar to how a '2024' Edinburgh or Kings Cross would have to be), and while most of the basic signalling information from the 1965 resignalling is out there, I did not find anything on working methods for Wednesbury area, Essington or Bescot Up.

Updated to v1.1 that will chain via Wolverhampton to a 1975 SAT for Telford-Oxley
Sorted a few typos and added a few missing trains that I discovered while doing the Telford-Oxley timetable

Requires Wolverhampton 1975 SAT TT at v1.2 to chain.
