Wine 10 error clicking link in timetable window 19/03/2025 at 02:41 #160612

I’ve run into a problem with the timetable window. I think it appeared after upgrading Wine from version 9 to version 10.

Case 1:

1. Click occupied TD berth in sim window. Timetable window opens.
2. Click TD in timetable window (e.g. next working, join, etc.). Timetable window should change to show new timetable, but instead nothing happens.
3. Click Close in timetable window. Error: System error. Code 1400. Invalid window handle.
4. Log file is attached as “case1.log”.

Case 2:

1. Click occupied TD berth in sim window. Timetable window opens.
2. Click TD in timetable window (e.g. next working, join, etc.). Nothing happens.
3. Click another TD berth in sim window. Again, nothing happens.
4. Click Close in timetable window. The error varies. Sometimes the same as above. Sometimes an access violation. Sometimes an “abstract error”.
5. Log file from doing this a few times is attached as “case2.log”.

Note that it is not a problem with all cases of switching the TT displayed in an existing window. If I just click TD berths in the sim window, but not TDs in the TT window, all is fine: the window changes to show each TT, and when I eventually close it, no error is reported.

Hi,

I am sorry that are running into issues with using Simsig on Wine, however we don't support any method of running Simsig other than on Windows machines officially. You can read the wiki for more information. It is possible there are other Wine users on the forum that might have some pointers but beyond that we would not be able to offer any support.

Cheers

I know it’s not official; nevertheless, I think bug reports have occasionally been fixed in the past (unless memory fails me).

Hi, I started experiencing the same problems when I upgraded Crossover from 24 to 25 (I am assuming this is the same as Wine 9 to 10!?!
I also experienced the same when trying to click on TD in the Line up screens.

I ended up reinstalling Crossover 24 and all is fine again, so there is clearly something changed there.

I am not at all techy when it comes to coding, so I guess we will have to wait for someone who is to work out the problem and what the workaround is.

IIRC, last time it was a Wine bug which they eventually fixed.
