I was wondering if it would be possible for time-triggered scenarios to be created? Basically, using the current scenarios available on each sim; at a time pre-determined by the player (single) or host (multi), a specific scenario would begin. This is mainly because an engineering possession won't happen all day, but could start at maybe 6PM and end at 6AM for example.

Just an idea, I don't know how viable is so does anyone know if this has been explored before? or if it's even possible with the current framework etc.?

Yes, One or more of the difficult scenarios on Cambridge has a (rare) random event. And I've found code on the old Didcot that did somthing like that but it was isolated for some reason- one day it maybe fixed.

And what happens if a train is on a track that is to be closed at time of the change of the scenario?

I would therefore assume that the player or host would need to check the timetables or current location of trains to ensure that the scenario can be applied safely.

In the case of a hosted game, I would expect the host to come to an agreement with the panel signaller(s) involved before applying any closures, possessions, etc.

It's good to hear Peter. And to AnyF, it's not my job to hash out the details but I would assume that there would be a warning x amount of time before the possession takes effect (proportional to possession size?) at which time the player/host would no longer signal trains down that stretch of track. First signal of possession becomes automatic reminder locked???
