GeoffM / Admin. "sorry your download limit has been reached" I have received the above message when trying to update the TT's for the various sims. Could you please why there is this restriction and the time limit involved. This is the first time i have seen this and as far as I can ascertain no forum member has mentioned before that there is a limit as to the number of TT's etc that can be downloaded at one time. Many thanks DavidR Log in to reply |

You have not said how many files you have downloaded or their total size. I have had a look through the settings and the only limits I can find are max daily limit of 5 for the same download and max of 50 daily downloads per person. If you have exceeded the first then I'd ask WHY? If the second then if you wait till tomorrow you can start from where you left off. I can't find any MB limit setting but there may be one. Either way the website has a limited bandwidth which needs to be shared around so it would seem reasonable to have a restriction on one person using it all up. Sorry I can't be more specific than that. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |

Peter, I downloaded Bristol and Cambridge TT's to make sure I had the latest ones and deleted old TT's from my SimSig folder. When I tried to download Exeter TT's I came up against this block. I would estimate I downloaded no more than 15 TT's in total , nowhere near the 50 limit. DavidR Log in to reply |

Just a thought....One possible explanation....use of a "download accelerator". Accelerators make multiple connections to a site to try and download files faster where the speed of a single connection is limited. If such an application was used, it is possible multiple connections are opened for a single file so whilst only 15 files may have been retrieved, the connection limit was exceeded.

It's possible that there is a size limit, it's just that I've not identified it. David has not got back to us so we don't know what happened next day. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |

Peter, Sorry , there were not that many TT's left to download on the main TT download site ,only a few Exeter and Gloucester. I downloaded about 5 and did not receive the blocking message. I will have to try in the next few days to download all the TT's again to see if the message re-occurs. Will advise once I have completed this task. DavidR Log in to reply |

I'm not sure there is any need to go that far- if there are limits then they are there for a reason- using up Geoff's bandwidth simply to satisfy curiosity is not to be encouraged. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |
