Had a strange problem at Crediton earlier. I had a train at CN5 waiting to go to Exeter. It couldn't proceed because there was a train heading the other way at CN2. CN2 was showing as green, but the train driver continued to believe it to be red, even after I reset and cleared it. In addition CN4, at Crediton station, would not clear even though the barriers were down, the Clear button pressed and nothing anywhere between Crediton and Barnstaple.

Just been having a go at Exeter in relation to this problem and found the following. CN4 was probably operating approach control, that means that the train would need to approach it at a limited speed for the signal to clear. I'm not quite sure how you managed to get CN2 to go green as during my testing I only got it displaying yellow, although signal CN2R (the repeater just before it) did show green. CN5 cleared without a problem for me although I did not have a train to send that way so I haven't been able to recreate your problems exactly. If the driver is still calling up and saying the signal is red when it is clearly green then you should be able to authorise him to PSAD (Pass Signal At Danger) without penalty. EDITED TO ADD; I've just tested CN5 with a train created from Okehampton to Exeter St. Davids and CN5 cleared without a problem and the driver did not call up to complain about the signal being red. Are you sure you are talking about the correct signal? As UKTM says CN4 ia approach released and in consequence it is impossible for CN2 to ever show a G I think I've since amended the way the all the OTW works as there were a couple of theoretical problems, e.g. if you did a hand of god removal the OTW remained locked. I do recall there was a problem (don't recall what off hand) with some of the signalling in that stretch at one time but I've since fixed it. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! GoochyB has it right on both counts. The approach control isn't an issue as the train had been at a stand long enough for the driver to call in more than once. Further, this has to be a timing or other esoteric issue as I had recently run the TT though 24 hours without any problems at Crediton, and was up to 1630 when this struck. The only thing different that could conceivably be pertinent is that on the second run I had set Auto to be on at Eggesford for a while, but had turned it off again some time before this problem. I have a saved game, if anyone wants to take a gander. Log in to reply |
