Realsie this is probably not going to happen since it goes against realism....but:

It would be really nice to have an option to make all managed (either via explicit clearing or of the lowering via route setting variety) LC either disappear or be managed by the sim. This would make single player on some of the more complex sims (Really thinking mainly of Trent here, but Cambridge would also be a candidate) much more doable for those of us that are mere mortals...

Westbury has a feature where the LC's are automatic as long as the route is set over the crossing. Of course this could be because all the crossings are operated locally. I may be wrong as i don't know the area.

Westbury Sim's LCs are for the most part operated by local gate boxes not the panel. So as I understand it the route is set by the box (you), the gate box (the sim) is notified and they do their thing before clearing the signals.

It's possible for the way the crossings work to be subject to a user option but it's for the developer to provide the option if they feel so inclined.
