Whatever you set the option to is a default for all sims- it is no specific to EDB or any other.

Sure you've selected the right message type before unchecking the box - specifically the "Train entering system" item?
tried that and the messages still keep poping up it does it on both edinbrugh 2006 timetables. I'm stumped as to how to get them off. maybe I'll stick with central scotland and ditch Edinburgh.

How do I uninstall a box from my SimSig install

Re: Edinburgh pop up boxes.

A number of the early trains come in from sidings or other locations so have you tried unticking the pop up box in the "Train ready in siding" event?

This is under F3 > Messages > 'Event' drop down box then scroll or move down to 'Train ready in siding' and untick the "Popup message box" box.

This, together with unticking the same box in the "Train entering system" event in the same drop down box menu, should stop most if not all of the messages if you don't want them.

Same here, I can do these two fine but when it comes to 1M16-1 on Platform 11 and 1M16 needing to accessing Platform 10 then shunt onto 1M16-1, it can't be done as 1M16-1 is blocking the crossovers.

Anyone got a idiot's guide to shunting these sleepers?

I'm currently testing an updated TT that should resolve those issues.

In the mean time this (draft) WIKI page may help.

The shunt forward trick I mentioned earlier in the thread (i.e shunt forward after 1B01 joins to 1B16 but before detaching the 5B01 Class 67 + day coaches) works nicely, although you do have to be on your toes to do it (once the divide starts, you've had it). Done right, it'll clear the middle crossover and allow the third portion to enter platform 10 via the middle road.

Put the ARS on and do nothing manually seems to work, see post 19.
The only slight oddity that could still crop up was that :
If you took 5B01 away too slowly,
1M16 ran into P10 with the overlap falling to the north lines
Then 1M16 would not join 1M16-1 cleanly, it resolutely sat back from 1M16-1.

5B01 has acted differently on the two occasions I have run the timetable. The first time, it was at the west end of P11, so I changed the TT to back it out into Mound Tunnels and take it around via P10. The second time, with the amended TT, it said it was already at the east end of the platform and a train was in front of it to the west. I'll see what happens next time with the original TT.

Alrighty then, I've been fiddling with the up sleepers and have found a solution which does not need any shunting, reversing or shortening of the stock, just a few locations need to be changed to make it all work. (I think)

Disclaimer: All of this was done with NO ARS. All route setting was manual. Not tested with ARS on.

I think the most important change is the stopping location of the first sleeper which arrives in P11, 1B16, from 'Near end' with an offset of 22 to 'Near end exact' with an offset of 22. This shows as NX@22 in the location list instead of N@22. Doing this should leave one empty track circuit to the East of 1B16 and the crossover.

At Edinburgh Waverley I also changed the locations of all the sleepers from Edinburgh Waverley (East) or Edinburgh Waverley (West) to simply Edinburgh Waverley. The only exception to this being 0M16-1, the electric loco which attaches to the combined sleepers, which I kept as Edinburgh Waverley (West) as without the (West) it hung over the end of the platform until the join was complete. Keeping the (West) seemed to look better although with or without it the join still happened OK and the complete train did not hang over the starting signal E471

1B01: Make sure the divide command for 5B01 is DR
1M16-1: Make sure the divide command for 0M16 is DR.

I think that is everything to make it all work.

Attached it the modified sleeper timetable (sleepers ONLY - nothing else) to show you what I mean and what I did Sleeper Timetable Only click here

All;
While not wishing to denigrate Flymo's efforts, Postal and myself have been working (all this week!) on a revised TT to resolve the sleeper issues.
We currently have a version that works reliably, now just trying to eliminate any user interventions.
Hope it will be ready in the next day or two.

This may seem abit over the top, But what about having two seperate sleepers going out of Edinburgh on with the electric loco and one with diesel. nethier join each other just a loco change or just have one big one that comes in and the diesel comes off and the electric comes on.

Probably better asked of First ScotRail as it's their trains and their formations. However, if you wish to create a fictional timetable we will be glad to host it in the timetable area.

I've merged that together with the supplied timetable (and removed the original trains), and I have successfully had it all work without ANY intervention on my behalf (ARS off).

Excellent news, glad it worked ok.

You still have to manually interpose a train ID here and there even with ACI on but the joining itself works without any intervention.

A revised 2006 TT to aid sleeper workings is now available in the down area at Edinburgh 2006 V1.3.

Operation notes here.
