Out of interest are these based on the actual operation of the box (e.g. NX Panels) or set for ease of multiplayer operation.

The reason I ask is that when I visited Edinburgh SC many years ago now there were 7 signaller positions/panels, although I suppose that these may have been rationalised more recently when freight traffic diminished prior to its resurgence in the last few years.

My recollection was:

Panel 1 Berwick (excl) to Monktonhall (excl) - although the signaller on Panel 1 often worked Monktonhall Jcn if the Panel 2 man was busy
Panel 2 Monktonhall (incl) to Middle of Waverley
Panel 3 Middle of Waverley to Haymarket (excl)
Panel 4 Haymarket
Panel 5 Midcalder lines from Slateford (incl), E&G lines from Haymarket (excl) and Fife lines from Haymarket (excl) to North Queensferry
Panel 6 Inverkeithing end of Fife
Panel 7 Thornton end of Fife

When I visited the panel was half closed, having moved to the IECC room next door. The workstations on the Sim are actually based on the IECC workstations as I have them recorded.

Thanks Peter.

I guessed that might be the case, so it looks like they have saved on a signaller position, although I suppose that may change when Millerhill is incorporated and the line to Galashiels opens.
