Purely out of interest - the panel at Waverley had a key-operated switch for the Forth Bridge to stop the reversible working being used inadvertently and surprising someone working on the bridge. Was this replicated on the VDUs?

Looking at photos, I can't see anything obvious on the workstation desk itself but on the screen there is what appears to be a soft button above the bridge, set out as: REVERSIBLE WORKING O FORTH BRIDGE Whether it is an indication only or an actual lockout I have no idea. Unfortunately, I didn't take any detailed views of w/s 6 so can't show you the layout clearly. Log in to reply |
