Do you want the challenge of signalling the area around Chester? A mixture of DC suburban services to Liverpool, local trains into both England and Wales, express trains to London, and mixture of freight trains? Then Chester is the simulation for you!
Featuring 8 workstations, including Chester PSB, and Hooton PSB, and six smaller signal boxes around the area, it is more than manageable by one user, but gives plenty of scope for variety in multiplayer, or when playing with friends.
The simulation features two eras. The 2006 era has the line to Wrexham being single track, and the Halton Curve only usable in one direction. Two short sighted decisions, which are both corrected in the 2018 era!
Two timetables come with the simulation, one for each era, and both are compatible with adjacent simulations using the same timetable.
And speaking of adjacent simulations, Chester chains with no fewer than five existing sims: North Wales Coast, North East Wales, Cheshire Lines, Sandhills, and Edge Hill. Why not link up with Sandhills and Hunts Cross and have the entire Merseyrail network under your control? Or why not link up with North East Wales and North Wales Coast and even further afield across the Wales and Borders region?
