Nice easily run simulation which introduces mechanical signalling to many here. To add realism to the sim I wondered how feasible it would be to have a list of bell codes at the two signal boxes in the sim ? Only if the correct bell codes are given and repeated will the line clear be given. The bells may be audible as well to add further realism.

But then where do you stop, one box I know has the standard list of bell signals, then special code list 1, then a different bell which is only applicable to trains going to one specific location. Paul You have to get a red before you can get any other colour Log in to reply |

Thanks for all the comments on bell signals. My idea was to have a small list of bell signals at each signal box location, which are activated by a radio button. There could also be the double beat attention bell and cancel bell signal if you muck it up ! The difficult part would be linking the class of train with the logic input of the signals and bell codes. But its an interesting idea.
