I discovered earlier by accident but forgot to save, so I've done it again purposely, that it is possible to clear Edale's EE16 Up IB Home signal with the Edale - Earles Sdgs Up block instrument indicating 'Normal'. I've attached a save. Regards, Phil Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Log in to reply |

When the train (in this case 1E44) passed the IB the block instrument went from Normal to Train On Line but with the Normal indication still visible. I've attached a save. Regards, Phil. Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Log in to reply |

On the subject of the Earles Siding block, is it possible to wake the Earles Siding signalman up a bit? He can take up to three minutes to respond to "Train out of section", at which point he often wakes up with a start and suddenly remembers the delayed express currently waiting at his IB home. It would also be nice if the operation of the up and down lines could be tied together, so that the Earles Sidings signalman doesn't respond to a number of bell signals on the Up before finally responding on the Down, but that may not be trivial to code. Yes the simulated Earles signalmen are indeed a sleepy bunch!

Continuing on from this thread, I assume that to get a line clear request cancelled by Earles Sidings requires a phone call which will never be answered? I'm still waiting ... I accidentally cleared signal EE16 before a train had passed, and now the only way I can get the damned thing to Earles Sidings is to authorise it to pass EE16 at danger and give train entering section.
