In at least some cases, trains are shown multiple times in the simplifier if their TD is not unique. For example, in the attached screenshot, three trains with TD "2W54" exist, but only one is due to arrive at Glasgow Queen Street at 13:41. However, 2W54 is listed as arriving three times in the simplifier, once for each iteration. Further down, two 2N22s are similarly shown, despite the other iteration of 2N22 not arriving until 4 hours later. (This is separate from the case if multiple alternative trains run at the same time - multiple listings make somewhat more sense in that case!) Post has attachments. Log in to view them. That is correct. The TD needs to be unique. This appears to be an old timetable. What timetable were you running? If you do an F8 on timetable "Central Scotland August 2006 (0445 start)" you will see how multiple TDs should be handled. The way the 2006 timetable handles duplicate TDs is the old way of doing it. The timetable Danny252 has is doing it the new way- having duplicate TDs, but including UIDs to provide a unique identity. The point of including UIDs was to vastly reduce the use of suffixes on train IDs.
