Following on from my comment about doing timetables for the meet, I've done 6 and been told 5 will definitely be used.

Safe to say I now know what the sims are but to quote AndyG " If I told you - I'd have to kill you"

Passed the age to be doing 'Spoon Feeding' !!!

Maybe a Welsh sim will be sneaked out ahead of the meet as it is St David's day on Thursday.

Would be good: you never know.

Indeed. I haven't been told either but I have a hunch on what two of them might be. Not sure whether to play said hunch though: I got it right last time at the London meet (won the free pint for guessing Manchester Piccadilly) but I think getting it right twice on the trot - if I did so - might be judged too much of a coincidence.

All I will say, however, is that I am thinking in terms of recent box closures.

I wonder if the fact that this is picture No.2 is significant?

You could be on to something there.

I'm also suspecting parts of Sim 3 are close geographically; that's a fairly unusual layout with three auto buttons.

There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway.

Hmmm... Stockport / Edgeley Junction (both of which have 2 boxes) perhaps? I have no idea and am simply guessing but if Stockport / Edgeley was correct then that gives me ideas as to what else we might see.

I have wondered why two developers wanted to come into work recently, they seemed to be paying a lot of interest to our archive material on Liverpool Exchange No 1 and No 2

I thought developers giving things away was not the done thing Karl. Unless you are trying to throw the speculation out a bit! However Phil Deaves' website refers only to "Liverpool Exchange No.1" signalbox which closed 30th April 1977 on closure of the line.

Seeing as we are supposed to get 3 new sims here, and I wouldn't expect Echange 1 and Exchange 2 to be separate sims I wonder what else we would be seeing if your thinking is giving things away.

The layout of Sim 2 does look remarkably like Edgeley North Junction controlled by Edgeley No 2 box.

I'm going to lay my cards on the table and claim with about 98% certainty that the location shown in Sim 3 is Sandbach.

There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway.

My guesses I could be right or wrong..

Clue 1 - Not 100% sure on that one..
Clue 2 - Heaton Norris Jn (Stockport) which like looking likely
Clue 3 - Sandbach area - rare guess at that maybe well out of area

I'm suprised no one seems to have any ideas for number 1; the dev even left the "B" that Baguley Fold Junction (I'm 99% sure it's there anyway) begins with on the panel. AS for the other 2 I agree with previous guesses of Edgeley Junction 2, and Sandbach.

Fine. That suggests sims to be as follows:

SIm 1 definitely Bagueley Fold Jcn. This photo - http://photos.signalling.org/picture?/26901/category/3573-2018_january - shows part of BF's panel which looks much like that screenshot. Wouldn't be a huge sim though so I wonder if there will be more in that sim than just Bagueley Fold? BF would also link to Ashton Moss Junction and that, in turn, links into a thought I have which I mention at the end.

Sim 2: Stockport / Heaton Norris / Edgeley we think (I would think those would come as one sim) and I will go with Edgeley Junction. However having looked at various photos online the layout of that junction reminds me, at least in part, of the area around Ashburys station which is on Manchester East. The Manchester North sim also says "To Ashburys SB (Manchester East)" on it.

Sim 3: Manchester South (which took over Sandbach 11-Mar-2006). Sandbach can be seen on the top bit of the screen in this photo and the two do look very similar: http://photos.signalling.org/picture?/23704/category/2602-2016_june

So my guesses will be, for Saturday:

- Manchester South
- Manchester East (with Bagueley Fold Jn added on)
- Stockport / Edgeley Junction / Heaton Norris (as one sim)

I'll make another set of guesses. Nobody said there was a limit on guesses, right?

Harrogate Loop
Reading
Port Talbot
Basingstoke
London Bridge - although I read somewhere that this sim was abandoned or something
Colchester
Ireland - I know this isn't specific, but I don't know how it's split up.
I cannot lie, I would pay a lot of money for London Bridge... Even an old layout would be fantastic so I hope its not been abandoned.
I would love the London Bridge area to be a Sim, having worked the area for real for 25 years, I miss it.

Agree, looks like Sandbach (right end Station, Left end towards Crewe). Although the left most crossover doesn't appear on my Quail...

Seen the rest of the posts (plus the picture of the panel), my Quail is not up to date

You need to update to 3rd edition (August 2013) :)
