The latest update is that everything is in place, there are already 8 people in attendance and things are good to go. Big shout out to Karl, Alan and John for stepping into the breach and making sure that the meet still goes ahead. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Last edited: 03/03/2018 at 12:58 by postal Reason: None given Log in to reply |

Sorry I can't be there but I can't get my car out and my local line, which would have taken me to Tempkle Meads, is not operating. Have a good day all and I hope to get to play the sims later this evening (if they get released today). Dave Log in to reply |

Have fun to all those who could make it, I'm stuck in chippenham with no reasonable travel options available. Dave, even if you could get to temple meads XC have canceled all trains from there to Birmingham anyway. I could have gone via reading-oxford, but with only one route left I'm not going to chance not being able to get back. Log in to reply |

My transport options are still restricted to walking 200 yards one way to the village post office or 200 yards the other way to the pub. No milk at the first for breakfast, but plenty of booze at both. So no problems at all, really. Back to creating/ testing Piccadilly 1991 timetable this afternoon.... Log in to reply |

For those of you not in attendance at the meet today (like me), three new sims are being played. These are: Manchester East Controlling lines from Ardwick Junction (Manchester Piccadilly), Philips Park Junctions (Manchester North), via the small boxes of Baguley Fold Junction and Ashton Moss North Junction, through to Diggle Junction (Huddersfield), New Mills Central (Peak District). In addition, the sim includes Dinting box, controlling the branch lines for Hadfield and Glossop, and Denton Junction, controlling the link between Heaton Norris Junction, Guide Bridge and Ashton Moss North Junction. It is planned that Manchester East will be released towards the end of March 2018. https://www.dropbox.com/s/e7a1i0syjwr6zjo/East.jpg Manchester South Controlling the route from Stockport (Stockport Sim), through to Crewe, with a fringe to Heald Green (Manchester Piccadilly). In addition, Manchester South controls the mechanical box of Macclesfield. https://www.dropbox.com/s/r8nfyy23qdnsn9s/South.jpg Stockport Controlling a very short, yet busy 5 mile stretch of line, linking Slade Lane Junction (Manchester Piccadilly) to Adswood Road Junction (Manchester South). This sim contains the five mechanical signal boxes of the area. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ql73yrtvmulikmt/Stockport.jpg James Last edited: 03/03/2018 at 14:02 by pedroathome Reason: None given Log in to reply The following users said thank you: whatlep, Steamer, Tempest Malice, tjfrancis, HST125Scorton, bri2808, Mikhail, BarryM, Phil-jmw, bossman, uboat, Ianno, norman B, Ginger |

Steamer in post 106353 said:If anyone's struggling with where all these simulations link up, please see the attached PDF schematic.Thank you there for the diagram, really sums up what I was trying to put in words. My only comment is that these days, Ashburys, Guide Bridge, Romiley and Stalybridge are all part of the workstation at Manchester East SCC. In an older eara, these would all be separate areas. The sim has been split in the way it has for the purposes of multiplayer sessions and to allow for earlier eras. James Log in to reply |

I do hope the double blocking, which is a feature of the Ansaldo LED signals/ Manchester South SCC and is the bane of my life is fully replicated...

Indeed. Get bright down to a red which clears to single yellow to bring you to the next red. Not a huge issue, but considering our defensive driving policy it does often lead to additional delays where you know you’re following another train.

I've moved the details of the Meet to the Previous Meets section of the Wiki (https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Wiki/Show?page=meets:previous_meets:march2018. It would be good if someone who was at the meet could update the "Simulations in Use" and "What Actually Happened" sections at the bottom of the piece (with pics if any available) so the rest of us can see now much fun you had. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply |

Looks like it to me and with the double-track over toward Gowerton also thrown in. Up the top right of the screen in that photo is Llanelli station and the terminus is Swansea - see the 2008 view at http://photos.signalling.org/picture?/22260/category/2417-2008_april - and the junction to the left is the curve from Landore to Cockett Tunnel - 2008 view at http://photos.signalling.org/picture?/22262/category/2417-2008_april - and double track continuing through to Gowerton station. Looks as if a Port Talbot sim is fairly close to appearing as well then. Good! I look forward to it. Dave Log in to reply |
