Using W115 / 715 instead of Trowbridge Sidings 25/03/2018 at 13:29 #107002 | |

Hi, Due to congestion I routed an ECS movement from Engine Sidings via DM signal W115, to shunt from 715 to final location Westbury Platform 3. It was timetabled to go via the Trowbridge siding. Driver duly pulled onto mainline without complaining, however on reaching W115 had to be manually reversed to get to P3. Having not realised that this was an alternative, he then complained at P3 that he was waiting at starting signal 502, instead of having arrived at his location. Should 115/715 be recognised as an alternative appropriate route for the siding? Or should the driver have complained that Engine siding W721 had the wrong route? (NB does it have a theatre?) Thanks Jamie Jamie S (JAMS) Last edited: 25/03/2018 at 13:29 by 9pN1SEAp Reason: None given Log in to reply |

Hi, I don't think that either W115/W722 or W313/W198 are allowable alternatives to the Dwn Trowbridge siding which is frequently used for trains that need to wait there for a while. So if you wish to use them you need to abandon timetable, manually reverse. Log in to reply |

If you want to use an alternate route you need the alter the timetable accordingly. Drivers only complain when there are no alternate routes!
