I had a lot of trouble getting a train to reverse at Stonehaven (up line) in Mechanical signalling, and eventually realised this was due to two small problems : 1. Both crossovers are controllable from one end only, and for the north crossover it's the trailing end, so I hadn't tried clicking there and thought control was automatic, as with some yards. 2. Attempting to give a hand signal with the green roundel gives a No train present message instead of a Route not available, so there is no hint to set the route. Almost all the other non-track-circuited points in the sim. are controllable from both ends (including the sidings at Stonehaven), so 1 seems a data imperfection, whereas 2 is more like 'unhelpful' coding. Hoping this might help someone... Log in to reply |

It works as expected though I can see there's an inconsistency in not having both ends of the cross-over visible but they are linked, so when one moves so does the other. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |
