Timetables for 1993 and 1996 are now available to download, completing the four-part series for MPSCC begun with 1989 and 1991. As with the earlier simulations, detailed background information and operating notes are provided with the timetable. One operator can cope with both timetables at up to 2 times real clock speed, but if 2 or 3 operators are available, life is easier. In 1993, the Altrincham line has closed and is already much missed, but the Heald Green - Manchester Airport line has just opened. Main line operations are still loco-hauled and there are more of them than in previous years. Freight workings still feature from Trafford Park, Glazebrook and extensively between Manchester Victoria and the Chat Moss route. By 1996 the southern connection to Manchester Airport was open, completing the triangular layout near Heald Green. Timetables were rewritten to have a heavy focus on services to & from the airport, with two trains in the station's platforms much of the time. Sequencing arrivals and departures at the airport became critical, leading to renewed pressure in turn on the terminal platforms at Piccadilly. Loco-hauled services still featured on some Birmingham services and freights, the latter becoming ever harder to fit in between passenger workings. 1993 operating hours: 03.59-24.30 - 1427 trains in the timetable 1996 operating hours: 04.20-24.30 - 1390 trains in the timetable If any bugs or curiosities are found, please post here....
