When saving a game, is the timetable saved with the saved game? Or, does the saved game look for the correct timetable file and work from that when reloaded?

Say for example, I save a game at 1700hrs. I continue to play and find a timetable error at 1710hrs. If I change that error in the timetable, save the timetable, close the game and reload the saved game of 1700hrs, will my correction appear in the saved game at 1710 or will I have to start the game from the beginning so the amended timetable is selected?

The save includes the tt - all changes included, no link back to the original file.

Another thing to keep in mind is what might happen if you make another edit to the TT. In your particular circumstance. you are editing and saving the TT after the sim save at 1700 so any changes to the TT copy on your hard disk will not be reflected in the 1700 save. Reloading the 1700 save and going to F4 will bring up a copy of the TT with the name you expect but which is not the same as the file of that name on your disk. Just suppose that you run forward with the 1700 save and discover another error at 1720. If you edit the TT at that point then save it, you are over-writing the copy with the 1710 edit and will lose that change from your saved copy of the TT but will have the 1720 change saved.

It is easy to get into a bit of a mess if you make more than one edit to the TT unless you take great care to align the copy live in the sim you are running with the saved copy of your hard disk.

Another thing to bear in mind is that if the tt is the 'packaged tt' (ie the one that came with the SIM in the first place), then the loader will try and update the saved / amended timetable to replace it with the original version. I suggest you don't run any updates until you have finished the SIM, or you may find the tt reverts back to the original.
