Here are the layouts of the 2 Aussie sims showed at the Sydney meet on Saturday. These 2 sims have been in development for just over 2 years & they were previewed at the London meet last November. Both sims are very different to what everyone is used too & will take some time to learn. Everyone that played them at the meet were very impressed. The wait is nearly over and it won't be long before everyone can enjoy these 2 great sims. Just remember the 1 rule of SimSig. It will be ready when its ready. Post has attachments. Log in to view them. I intend to live forever. Just to give you an overview of the 2 sims. Strathfield covers around 32km's of mainline from Sydney to the west. It has 2 main junctions on it being the junction to the north at Strathfield station & the junction to the west/south west at Lidcombe. There is also a reasonably small amount of freight line to manage as part of the sims as well as 1 of the main maintenance centres. Moss Vale covers approx. 430km's of track with 40km's being the very step "mountain" line from Moss Vale towards the coast. Although there is a lot less trains to manage you can still get yourself into trouble trying to work the local passenger services around the regional passenger & freight trains. As we said at the meet on the weekend we do have plans for more Australian sims, but our main priority at the moment is to get these 2 released & the bugs sorted out before we move onto any others. This project has been a huge learning curve for all concerned even the seasoned Simsig veteran. I intend to live forever. Having seen the sims previewed at the last London meet and being able to talk about them with all of the Aussie developers, I know how much hard work has gone into these and can't wait to see them available. They were looking great and will definitely be a fantastic addition to the Simsig stable Gareth Log in to reply The following users said thank you: Sparky, flabberdacks |

As nobody else has pointed this out - By accident or design, the manual for the Strathfield sim is visible on the Wiki. Note for Admin: Given my previous Wiki query - I am raising this Last edited: 18/07/2018 at 17:09 by Oddjob Reason: None given Log in to reply |

Yes, the visibility of the manual was intentional. Bear in mind that is also a work in progress and is likely to change based on feedback, probably mainly from non-Australian users who will get a bit of a culture shock! We played the sims at the meet and identified a few more issues. Nothing major but we do want to get it as good as possible rather than rushing a release. Moss Vale's location has been explained well, but I just want to make it clear what Strathfield covers. It is in the Sydney suburbs but does *not* include Sydney Central station itself. The right hand edge of the sim is around Illawarra Junction which is about 2 miles from Sydney Central. There are over 1400 schedules in the timetable. As well as the Strathfield manual being posted for people to have a look at before the sim is released, the Moss Vale sim will be posted to the wiki in about a week or so once its finalised. This was a conscious decision because of the significant change in operation to what everyone is used to. I intend to live forever. So far so good Log in to reply |

Dave, a Dutch simulation company called Signalsoft already provide replica panel simulations for Cologne (2 versions), Bonn and Amsterdam. Cologne and Bonn work very well but Amsterdam is one of their early sims and while it works reasonably well it does have one or two bugs. Log in to reply |
