Installed Timetables Not Appearing 23/12/2018 at 00:57 #114222

I've found a issue which I don't understand with the SimSig Loader - I'm using the latest version.

Basically I've tried to run a Peterborough session and only half of the timetables that are on my system have been detected by the loader even though they are all in the same place...

It refuses to detect the following:

Peterborough Summer 2004.WTT
Peterborough August 2012 Weekday TT.WTR
Peterborough August 2012 Weekday TT.WTT
Peterborough 1985 v7.21.WTT
Peterborough 1985 v7.21.WTR
Peterborough 1985 0600 Start v7.21.WTT
Peterborough 1985 0600 Start v7.21.WTR

Yet the following which are installed in the exact same folder DO appear in the loader:

2017 - AUSTERITY PETERBOROUGH - 2017 Timetable on the Old Infrastructure + Extras v1.4.WTT
pbo-summer-2003.wtt
Peterborough 15th October 2009 (0445).WTT
Peterborough 15th October 2009.WTT
Peterborough 1977 Version 1.01 Mon-Sat (1).WTT
Peterborough 1977 Version 1.01 Mon-Sat.WTT
Peterborough 1977 Version 1.04 Mon-Sat.WTT

Is this a bug that needs to be placed on Mantis? I ask because I could understand if the timetables were all in different places but they're not so I can't understand why they won't show?

This problem has been raised a number of times in the past and is due to the core code now only recognising TTs in the current WTT only format rather than the old WTT/WTR format.

Try threads here or here to guide you through the way to solve the problem.

Thanks in advance to the proposed Public Spirited Citizen for doing the conversions.

If however you do come across an old format TT that has been missed here is my simple guide again, for those that may not have already seen it.

After opening a Sim without any timetable loaded

1 - Go to the timetables menu and open/merge the old WTT/WTR timetable

2 - After Merging timetable from the same timetable menu open save as (next line below open/merge) - then rename the timetable with a new different name from the original then save it. (you could just simply add your initials at the start for example)

3 - Reopen the Sim and you should then see your version of the timetable in the TT list.

An easy quick test to see if this has worked is to move the WTR file out of the folder, open the TT up and see if the rules tab is populated -if there are rules you've done it right
I've done that for three Peterborough timetables which now work and I wanted to uploaded them so they can be shared with the community, for some reason the site is taking industrial action and refuses to allow me to upload them.

Why?

I've attached the timetables I want to upload below as I've tried multiple times and the site refuses to upload them.

If some kind person from the SimSig team can explain why I cannot upload the timetables or upload the timetables themselves I would be grateful.

I had this very same problem recently with some Kings Cross timetables.
As a result, I have written an easily understood guide in my ‘SimSig’ notebook based on the explanation that I was given.

If nobody objects, I could add this to the Wiki in the section ‘Starting a Simulation’ under a suitable sub-heading (suggestions welcome).

This would make the solution easier to find for those who encounter the same problem in the future. Just direct them to the Wiki instead of trying to find a relevant post somewhere on the Forum.

Bugsy

Edit: I have just realised that this may only be a suitable solution for indivual timetables and not a group.
Other solutions suggested would be more appropriate.

Everything that you make will be useful - providing it's made of chocolate.

You can upload them to the website, you just need to wait for admins to approve them. For them to be approved you'll need to ensure you submit them to the correct area.

That's just it, I cannot upload them as the upload box remains grey the whole time and does sweet FA, it's like the website is unable to accept any uploads at this time.

I'm aware of waiting for admins to approve the files as I've uploaded a number of files with no issues but this week I've been pulling my hair out at the antics of the website.

Which is why I've been saying I've been having nothing but trouble uploading them.

134KB in total for all three files and using Google Chrome to upload, bearing in mind I've used it many times before with no issues.

I have a feeling Google Chrome could be the culprit. Have you tried a complete reboot of your computer?

I've restarted my laptop numerous times and still had issues however for some reason I now can upload files

Don't know what happened but I've managed to upload the three files but I think I might have submit one file to the wrong area.

Have tested with a large file and got the message "The file size must be between 1 and 4194303 bytes long".
