Starting at the top: Neville Hill (Leeds) - all 'major' HST work, 153 and 156 overhauls and major component changes. Etches Park (Derby) - all 222 Meridian work, HST servicing, 15x servicing and minor exams, recent addition of wheel lathe. Eastcroft (Nottingham) - 158 servicing and minor exams. and if you really want it......... Cricklewood (North London) - stabling sidings, no facilities. Boston (Lincolnshire) - stabling sidings, traincrew depot. and then also......... Crown Point (Norwich) - NXEA depot, contracted for servicing 3 EOD 158 diagrams Crewe LNWR - contracted for servicing one EOD diagram Before using Norwich Crown Point, Cambridge Coldhams Lane did the 3 EOD East Anglia diagrams (ceased Nov 08). Up to the same point in time, Tyseley (Birmingham) covered 15x servicing, all exams and major component exchange (as per Central Trains). 158 overhauls were done by DeltaRail in old RTC premises at Derby. Think that just about nails it! Pete Clay Log in to reply |

Nothing stables overnight at Skegness any more; as Pete says, Boston is the nearest traincrew depot and that's where units stable. The carriage sidings at Skeg are little used now (not sure if they can be used nowadays!) - I last saw them used for a charter to run round. There'd certainly be no need to go in there on a regular basis. To add to the list - Lincoln's also a traincrew depot and a few units stable there too. Log in to reply |

The sidings at Skegness. No1 road (nearest fence) has been clipped out for over ten years now, the other two roads are very seldomly used for loco run rounds. If you stop correctly, you can just get round thirteen vehicles in No2 road! Don't actually know if they are officially still open, just checked for fitness when there is a need to use them. For as long as I have been a Central / EMT driver, there have always been a number of units stable at Lincoln, in the bays and what was Plat 7 (think its all renumbered with the resignalling now). There is a reasonable sized T/C depot as mentioned. Think it's somewhere along the lines of 20-ish drivers and same amount of Guards. Boston and Norwich are the smallest with 12 of each grade at each. Leicester was once a Central T/C depot and stabling point. Usually 5-6 units overnight. For a major depot, Nottingham is the hub of the ex-Central part of EMT, with well over 100 of each grade. You can also find at least 15 - 20 units stabled in the platforms for the start of service each day, with any spares and repairs stabled on Eastcroft. Pete Clay Log in to reply |

Presumably Paul's referring to the lack of Northern traincrew at Lincoln, which is quite correct. I believe Sheffield are the only Northern depot to sign the route to Lincoln? There aren't any EMT Drivers at Sheffield, but there's a depot of Train Managers and other on-train grades - not sure how many Drivers travel 'pass' to and from Sheffield, but I wouldn't have thought it'd be many. @Ipswich If you go into the SimSig page on Wikipedia and trawl back through the discussion about the page, there is actually a statement from one of the Wikipedia moderators (and I quote verbatim here) that "to put it bluntly, truth has no sway here". You are quite right to be sceptical. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply |
