I’m playing the 15th October 2009 tt (if my memory serves me correctly) and have reached approximately 03.25. I have been notified of a Track section failure in the Huntingdon area, but I can’t see any of the sections of track illuminated in the usual red. Probably my bad eyesight. I have attached a save made at 03.20. Could someone could run it through and tell me where the failure is please. Note that it is currently running at X4 the normal speed. The saved game does not contain any failed track circuits. There have been two TCFs before the save, but neither was in the Huntingdon area.

Agree with Albert. have you got a save after the failure? failing that you can go into the F11 menu under track sections and the failed section will be highlighted red.

However, my screenshot shows what I encountered shortly after 03:25. A track circuit failure in the Huntingdon area, of which I cannot see any evidence. I presume that you played through to see what happened? Everything that you make will be useful - providing it's made of chocolate. Log in to reply |

Nothing happened. I don't think TCFs are decided long beforehand - playing the same save will generally result in different TCFs appearing. What I suspect is that one of the TCs leading up to a siding failed, but it's hard to tell which one as there are multiple non-track circuited pieces of track in the area in your screenshot. These should normally not be allowed to fail, but it's easy to make a mistake in the data here as any given TC has a very low chance of failing during a single game. There are occasional reports on other sims as well of TCFs in places that are not supposed to fail. With a save after the failure, one could check F11 to see which TC it was.
