Is there a way of preventing Derby granting the single line slot at Alrewas?

Several times I have planned to hold down trains at AS5 for regulation but Derby have accepted and thereby delayed an Up train entering and presumably blocked the Dn Main at Wichnor Jn!

In Zone 6, no one can hear you scream...

No you can't, but from the Derby signaller's point of view they have accepted the slot and thus your train and the resultant delay which may occur from accepting said train, so what happens at Winchnor Jn on their side is their doing.

As the junction isn't on your panel, you have no control over it, so don't even worry about it.

I've not run the Aston sim for some time so can't remember, but I presume the Derby slot is granted automatically?

In real life Alrewas interposes a train description to Derby when Train Entering Section is received from Lichfield TV Junction, and then, on receipt of the description, if the Derby West Panel signalman is in a position to he gives the slot to Alrewas. Maybe an alteration to the sim is required replicate this, or at least for Alrewas to have to request the slot by pressing the green slot roundel as happens in many other sims.

While I might not have to care about what else happens on the fictional Derby side, it does mean that the train coming my way will be unnecessarily delayed, which ultimately does end up as my problem, too.

Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick.
