I notice on reaching end of day with Moss Vale (and a passable 61% score), the simulation actually keeps running. I presume this means I can continue ad infinitum but just one question... Do any delays or consequences of your actions roll forward into the next day, e.g. a train going late into its destination will still come back out late? If so that is great as of course the "competition" just ends at 2359, which means you can leave locos and stock dumped everywhere unserviced etc. Vern Log in to reply |

A long time ago in a previous SimSig version the sim actually stopped and presented you a final score after reaching the TT's end time. This is not the case anymore, but the timetable is not reloaded as the day rolls over. This means you will run out of trains soon after as the next day's trains will not appear and the existing ones have no next working anymore at some point. And yes, score continues to be counted for the trains still in sim. AJP in games Log in to reply |

Just to add that the sim clock runs to 99:59; there are a handful of user written multi-day timetables which take account of this. There's an option to display times greater than 23:59 as sensible values on the clock and show timetable window. As Albert says, the simulation won't loop back round to the start at midnight. In Moss Vale's case I wouldn't expect delays on trains going to and then coming back from Sydney because they'll just set swap (except maybe the XPTs or Indian Pacific). Timetable authors can include rules like "X must not appear until Y minutes after Z leaves the area". Also, kind of a Control thing too, since trains could be turned back early, rendering the aforementioned rules unhelpful - again, highly depends on the area. SimSig Boss Log in to reply |

What might be handy is the ability to mark more than one train as un-entered at a time, then you could have a sort of reset to the timetable. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |

However if you mark trains as unentered once you get to the end of the timetable, they will enter as soon as they can, since they will be late entering.

After the first 24 hours, the displayed clock shows it going back to 1am, but in the actual timetable, a train scheduled for 1am the next day is scheduled as 25:00. If you merged in a timetable after the first 24 hours, all those trains will pretty much enter straight away (obv rule dependant) because they are seeing themselves as up to 24 hours late. There are a couple timetables that have been written as multiple days in the same TT, but they are not the norm. Exeter and kings cross both have a 4 day TT in the downloads section that lets you run from Friday through to Monday Log in to reply |
