I am now fairly confident in the Carisle operation, after just a few days I have been using SimSig for many years, but it was the EXE file versions, and for some reason I had not included Carlisle I noticed the timetables are either 1979/1980 or 2006 There is a configuration between the two, and that suits any timetable between 1984 and 2006 It might take me a while, and a little fictituous... The outline plan is : Just before Class 156 introduction / end of GSW loco haulage Overlap with Class 90 introduction by InterCity DELETED Log in to reply |

Started from scratch Winter 1986 (October 1986 to May 1987) So far : Loaded the 110mph WCML passenger services All worked, although noted southbound services ran about 10 minutes early arrival into Carlisle Loaded the 100mph WCML passenger services Again, same issue as above with 10 minutes early arrival into Carlisle Loaded the sleeper services All set to 80mph However even these ran 10 minutes (from Lockerbie) and 5 minutes (from Dumfries) early into Carlisle No issues northbound I was going to set the services to Heavy load, but that would then most likely delay northbound services instead The solution appears to be to add 5 minutes from Dumfries and 10 minutes from Lockerbie and pass both stations instead (rather than stopping) I have now run 00:00 to 05:00 three times I had a few glitches, my fault for not assigning platforms at Carlisle as I thought you could leave them blank and decide at the time, but on the third attempt all ran correctly I am handling the loco swaps and TRIP workings slightly differently The Timetable Analysis tool does not seem to like it, but the workings do exactly what they are supposed to I still only have the two 1600 x 900 screens Plan is to add two more screens soon I can then swap the two 1600 x 900 as peripheral views DELETED Last edited: 20/12/2020 at 16:02 by mjkerr Reason: None given Log in to reply |

Which timings have you based them on? Overnight trains have quite a bit of give compared to day services in my WTTs for Carlisle. Might be worth comparing them to a daytime service and amending? On a side note I was looking through my Carlisle 1987 station working book and it shows the loco hauled G&SW services arriving into 4 with the loco running round and shunting its train into the North bays, rather than being trapped on the stops. WTT for this period I started with the 110mph passenger services first All of the southbounds arrived at Carlisle 10 minutes early As above, I have added more and there is no difference I then found the topic about the timing issue I have finished testing 00:00 to 05:00 Two of the sleepers stack southbound as P4 is occupied DELETED Last edited: 20/12/2020 at 16:51 by mjkerr Reason: None given Log in to reply |
