I was on a walk between Sherringham and Cromer, Norfolk, and saw this device from the path which is alongside the Railway. Could someone please tell me what it is and its function. Frauscher Axle Counter

As Fulcher says it's an axle counter head, it counts the axles into / out of the section.

Thanks. I had a feeling that's what it was but wanted someone to confirm it (or otherwise) for me. And an interesting video too
