A great first session, a lot of chaos caused by a bridge strike at Madeley Junction on Staffordshire. While quite a few trains have diverted via Alsager there's still a back log at Crewe waiting the line to reopen.

We didn't see any licenses for the sims hosted, so as was North East Wales was already rostered we weren't able to lot you in initially. If you join TS before the session we'll see what we can do

An interesting one on the control log:

Quote:
Warrington North signaller advises 2N99 21:23 Manchester Victoria to Blackpool North has been wrong routed at WN35 towards Wigan Wallgate vice Wigan North Western. Driver has queried the route. Trust reports formed of class 319 and therefore service was at risk of running off of the overheads
If a 319 managed to get to WN35, it's a bit late to be worrying about running out of overheads Some industrial grade D&A testing required there

I think the full investigation will be quite enlightening!

Yes, latterly the home of Loco Services Limited.

(Could I advocate for conversion of that screenshot to PNG?)
Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick.

Thanks, though I meant also swapping out the original image, so you're not wasting 28 MB each time when viewing this thread for those on slower and/also metered connections.

Sorry that I had to drop out of yesterday's megachain thanks to a short=-notice London trip: I had been looking forward to it. Thank you for the Crewe screenshots though: I like large sims so I will very much look forward to Crewe's release.

I will also look forward to the next Megachain, whenever that might take place.

Dave

A very enjoyable chain, well organised and managed as ever and Crewe looks like it will be a masterpiece. Looking forward to that!

The only bit I was confused about was certain letters only appear once so it's difficult not being familiar with the area if I send the train this way where will it go next on the panel but I guess all that be sorted by release?

By this I mean you have A at the top and bottom of a route then elsewhere on the sim you see the same again so you can see where the route that you set will end up, Cardiff Central is great for this as a example.

Really enjoyed myself even if for some reason my TS setup on the laptop decided that push to talk was not acceptable and turned it off so apologies for anyone who might have heard me swear at my laptop.

Which letters do you think only appear once?

No letters appear only once, though it is a pretty complicated layout, as I'm sure is necessitated by the complexity of the simulated area.

It's not the easiest layout in the world to follow, but I thought that about, for example, LTS when all I had was a picture. You quickly pick these things up as you go.

When I first looked at the layout I too thought that there was a letter missing. It's quite easy to miss one or even two.
So I checked and then double checked and concluded that none are missing.

I eventually found two of each of the following letters: D; E; Y; Z; G; A; C; B; F; X. I was unable to find any letters that weren't repeated.

Hope this helps

For me, despite being familiar with the area it definitely helps that they are in different colours and not all the standard grey - it makes it visually easier to link two ends together.

C and A I only see once, I've looked a few times and I can't work out where both parts are
